Tri-State Environmental responds to suspected petroleum release into lake in Putnam County


Tri-State Environmental responds to suspected petroleum release into lake in Putnam County. Impacted surface soils are excavated in accordance with state requirements. Field screening takes place with properly calibrated photoionization detectors. Absorbent boom is placed in drainage area leading to inlet to lake. All deployed sorbents maintained at appropriate intervals and surrounding rain events. All spent absorbents and contaminated soils properly containerized and disposed of in accordance with governing requirements. Investigation of source and verification of amount released continues but all receptors have been properly addressed.
