Confined Space Entry Procedures

Following proper Confined Space Entry procedures when removing a tank from the underground or abandoning it in place is an essential, mandatory piece of the project. Air monitoring for explosive vapors prior to cutting the tank with appropriate tools, monitoring void spaces inside the tank for oxygen levels while cleaning and filling the tank in proper personal protective equipment are not upgrades or options they are OSHA mandates. Explosive vapors can exist in tanks containing heating oil for a variety of reasons. Be responsible when choosing a contractor to perform this service. It does not make it more costly and it is not optional. Be responsible, be safe. If you have questions regarding the removal or abandonment process do not hesitate to contact Tri-State Environmental.
