Managing underground or aboveground petroleum storage

Tri State Environmental Services

Managing underground or aboveground petroleum storage (including diesel, heating oil, or gasoline) entails removing steel or fiberglass tanks and performing environmental remediation. This process is not a one-size-fits-all solution, nor should it be. While residential tank removals generally take about a day, commercial or industrial projects can range from a single day to several weeks or even months. Petroleum-contaminated residential or commercial properties pose significant health and environmental risks, as the breakdown of gasoline, diesel, or heating oil can lead to the migration of these substances through soil and groundwater, creating hazards for humans and the environment. Our mission is to remediate and prevent toxic chemicals from leaching into nearby ground or surface waters, where they can be absorbed by plants and animals, contaminate drinking water, or volatilize and pollute indoor air in overlying buildings. From estimating and defining the appropriate scope of work to field screening with precisely calibrated instruments, collecting soil and groundwater samples, and providing comprehensive closure documentation, we ensure every step is performed efficiently, cost-effectively, and with the highest level of integrity.
